Aggregation and precipitation
Aggregation describes molecular association; precipitation describes formation of a separate phase. They can be related, but neither automatically demonstrates the other. Some aggregates remain dispersed beyond visual inspection. Loss of solubility also requires considering composition and conditions, without assigning structure to separated material solely from appearance.
A reading case: what to check
When turbidity appears, document it as turbidity, then select methods addressing size, amount or identity as needed. For a clear solution, avoid declaring aggregates absent. When comparing batches, keep preparation and history compatible and explain which fraction each method measures. Clarity and appearance are observations, not a complete stability profile.
What to preserve in the record
A clear solution does not exclude soluble aggregates. A precipitate does not prove the entire chain degraded either; describing the observation and method keeps distinct phenomena separate.
