Half-life and response duration
A half-life describes change in a defined quantity within a model and conditions. It may concern a measured species, a signal or a phase of observed behavior. Functional response need not follow analytical concentration exactly. Without specifying variable and system, two 'half-life' values may answer different questions.
A reading case: what to check
Before placing a duration in a table, record matrix, detected species, observation window and estimation method. If another study measured a downstream response, keep a separate column. Do not use either time as administration instructions or a storage schedule: those uses require evidence beyond the cited curve.
What to preserve in the record
A half-life does not define a use schedule or universal effect duration. Keeping the system and measured variable prevents a study estimate from becoming a clock for the product.
