Dulaglutide
Dulaglutide is a fusion protein incorporating a GLP-1 analog and an immunoglobulin Fc region. It has been studied as a complete entity from cellular assays through clinical follow-up. Calling it only a small peptide conceals essential architecture.

Mechanism described in the literature
In vitro, the LY2189265 construct retained GLP-1 receptor activity. The preclinical program also examined exposure and glucose-dependent responses in animal models rather than inferring them solely from structure.

The fusion is part of the molecule
The 2010 work describes construct engineering and experimental evaluation. Fc is part of the designed protein, not an ingredient added to a container. An isolated GLP-1 fragment is therefore not the same material as the complete construct.
Follow-up with defined events
REWIND was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial following cardiovascular events. Its primary endpoint grouped prespecified events in a population with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular history or risk factors. It asks a different question from cellular signaling; a composite endpoint does not imply every component behaved identically.
From molecular design to interpretation
Engineering evidence explains what was constructed; clinical follow-up describes what was subsequently evaluated. Both matter. Fc presence alone neither demonstrates antigen recognition nor makes dulaglutide a complete antibody. REWIND results cannot be transferred to other fusions: construct, population and endpoints belong to that program.
