GHRP-6
GHRP-6 is a synthetic peptide used to investigate pituitary secretion and cellular signaling. Secretory responses were observed in rat cells and human pituitary-tumor cultures in vitro. These findings belong to those systems rather than a universal endocrine response.

Mechanism described in the literature
In human somatotrophinoma cells in vitro, GHRP-6 was associated with phosphatidylinositol-turnover changes and growth-hormone secretion. The evidence supports second-messenger involvement in those tumor cells, not uniform responses across tissues.

The experiment’s time dimension
Perifused rat pituitary cells distinguished GHRP-6 from GHRH responses. Loss of responsiveness to one stimulus did not necessarily prevent response to the other. This investigates desensitization without equating it to complete exhaustion of secretory capacity.
Human cells do not mean clinical evidence
Human cultures came from somatotrophinomas rather than an intact pituitary. Their origin adds a species comparison but also a specific tumor condition. Secretion into culture medium and second-messenger changes are not outcomes in people.
Separating release, synthesis and growth
Released hormone measures secretion during an assay. Alone it demonstrates neither new hormone synthesis, tissue expansion nor sustained body change. Secretagogue should not accumulate conclusions the cited experiments never evaluated.
Questions and answers
Does human culture turn a study into a clinical trial?
No. It remains in vitro evidence with limitations specific to the cell type.
Are hormone release and tissue production the same outcome?
No. They are different phenomena requiring their own variables and designs.
