Pramlintide
Pramlintide is an analog of the peptide hormone amylin, studied in gastric-emptying and meal-response research. Its family identity matters: it is neither another name for GLP-1 nor an analog of that hormone.

Mechanism described in the literature
Mechanistic clinical studies examined pramlintide using measurements of gastric-content transit. These describe a physiological response but do not themselves identify every responsible cellular step.

Measure liquids and solids separately
The 1997 investigation used a randomized, masked crossover design. Markers and scintigraphy distinguished the liquid and solid components of a meal. Both emptied more slowly with pramlintide under the studied conditions. Gastric emptying is therefore not necessarily one single curve.
The second meal as an experimental question
The 1998 crossover study incorporated two successive meals. Besides emptying, it followed a marker related to nutrient arrival. Differences after the first meal did not recur after the second, making observation time part of the result rather than a secondary detail.
Interpreting the observation window
Together the studies distinguish a response's presence from its persistence; an initial observation does not demonstrate continuity all day. No second-meal difference also does not universally establish disappearance of the compound: only specific variables were measured. Preserve method, meal and follow-up window.

Does pramlintide belong to the GLP-1 family?
No. It is an analog of amylin, a different peptide hormone.
