TB-500

TB-500 is a designation that requires checking the declared identity. Before associating a study with a product, compare sequence and record scope; a commercial name alone does not establish equivalence to every material discussed in the literature.

About this compound

Studies of full-length thymosin beta-4 describe interactions with actin. Finding part of its sequence in a fragment does not establish that both materials share a mechanism, exposure or results. Before applying that literature to TB-500, identify the molecule in the study preparation and the molecule documented for the batch.

Batch documentation

Review documentation for the product and variant you are purchasing. A reference specification, a research publication and an individual batch certificate are different sources. Ask support which documents are available for your chosen variant and batch. No analytical result should be assumed from a catalog specification.

Laboratory handling

Reconstitution
Laboratory procedure: allow the closed vial to reach room temperature, disinfect the septum and slowly transfer the diluent against the inner wall of the vial. Do not shake; gently swirl the vial until fully dissolved. Record the volume, diluent and date in the batch log.
Storage
Sealed vial of lyophilized material: store at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted material; aliquot when the experimental design permits.
Protective equipment
Handle in a clean work area with a lab coat, nitrile gloves and eye protection. Dispose of vials, tips and sharps according to the laboratory waste procedure.

The name TB-500 does not establish molecular identity. An analytical study identified Ac-LKKTETQ, the 17–23 fragment of thymosin beta-4, in the product it analyzed (PMID 22962027); it does not identify Asciende’s vial. Full-length thymosin beta-4 references provide context and do not establish the effects, composition or equivalence of an uncharacterized commercial material.
